About Russell Alan Nash

Born and raised in the Northern Suburbs of Los Angeles County, I've always enjoyed the diversity of people and environments that California has to offer. Whether it's a drive up the Pacific Coastline or hiking in the back country of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, I'm always looking for that great moment to frame with a camera lens.

Currently I reside in Ventura County and work in Oxnard for a company that develops property management software and asset management solutions. In my free time I can be found, with camera in hand, either around the energetic atmosphere of the city or in a remote wilderness area taking in the silence.

To improve my photographic skills, I continue to explore various educational avenues including workshops through the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite National Park and online lectures.

The photographers who have most inspired me are Julius Shulman, Annie Griffiths, Michael Frye, Michael Melford, Herb Ritts, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Irving Penn, Ira Meyer, and Ansel Adams.

I'm always looking to meet other photographers who share a common vision or have a different take on life altogether. Please feel free to drop me a line on my contact page if you'd like to ask a question or share your views on photography.
